Waveland’s beloved St. Patrick’s Day Parade, organized by the Waveland Civic Association, has been a vibrant coastal tradition since 1964, making it the oldest Irish parade on the Mississippi Gulf Coast. Originally slated for Saturday, March 15, the celebration was moved to Sunday, March 19, 2025, due to inclement weather — yet the change didn’t dampen the spirit 💚. Each year, the Civic Association and City of Waveland collaborate to deliver a lively community gathering, complete with beads, veggies, and endless local pride.
The holiday itself traces its American roots back centuries, celebrating Irish heritage and culture across the country, and Waveland’s parade channels that history with a twist — cabbages, carrots, and even MoonPies fly through the air, combining Southern charm with Irish tradition. Trax Bar & Grill proudly joined the fun this year, riding on a themed float and joining the green-clad crowd.
